SUPPORTING NEW ONLINE COMMUNITIES AND VIRTUAL SPACES FOR GAELIC IN THE CONTEXT OF COVID-19

Funded by Bòrd na Gàidhlig, this research is based on the experiences of Gaelic speakers in Glasgow and Edinburgh.  

This project aims to understand the dynamics of new online spaces that have emerged as a result of COVID-19 restrictions by exploring the strategies and approaches adopted by individuals, groups and organisations in maintaining exposure and engagement with Gaelic.

This research will inform discussions and decision making on effective strategies for language learning and usage going forward, learning from the experiences of the organisations and individuals interviewed as part of the study.
